The Riverton City Council has made the difficult decision to cancel Riverton Town Days, including the Riverton Rodeo, which had been rescheduled from July to September. Given the ongoing COVID-19 risk associated with large gatherings, and the logistics of adapting to new health standards, the council determined it would be best to not hold events this year.

The decision comes as Riverton remains in the “Yellow” or low risk phase of Utah’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. City officials had hoped that by late summer the risk level would have been lowered to the “Green” phase, but COVID-19 case counts continue to be high in Salt Lake County.

City officials invite all to mark their calendars now for 2021 Riverton Town Days events:

• Riverton Town Days: July 2-3, 2021
