2020 General Election Information

The 2020 General Election is on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Ballots have been mailed out to all active registered voters. All eligible voters are encouraged to educate themselves on the candidates and issues and cast a vote in the election. Voting information is included below:

Option 1: Vote by Mail  **Preferred Method Due to COVID-19**
It is now too late to submit your vote-by-mail ballot in the mail. The good news is, is that you can still submit your vote-by-mail ballot! These are your options at this point:

Ballots must be dropped off by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3. We recommend dropping them off as soon as possible!

Option 2: Vote In-Person on Election Day
Registered voters can vote in-person or drop off their vote-by-mail ballot at any designated Election Day Vote Center on Tuesday, November 3 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Valid identification is required to vote in-person. The following Election Day Vote Centers are located in Riverton:

  • Riverton Senior Center, 12914 S Redwood Road, Riverton | MAP IT
  • Riverton South LDS Church, 2700 W 13400 S, Riverton | MAP IT
  • Riverton North LDS Church, 12242 S 2700 W, Riverton | MAP IT

ELECTION DAY VOTER REGISTRATION
You may go to any Election Day Vote Center and register to vote and vote at the same time if you have not previously registered or updated your registration after moving. You will be asked to complete a provisional ballot form, which becomes your voter registration form. Once you provide identification AND proof of residency at your current address (e.g., utility bill, bank statement, etc.), you will be issued a provisional ballot. The provisional ballot will be counted and added to the election results once Election Staff have reviewed and accepted your provisional form for completeness.

Riverton voters will have the opportunity to vote on a number of races, judicial retentions and state constitutional amendments. Legislative and school board races are determined by district and only residents who live in those districts are eligible to vote in those races.
