Riverton City announced today that an agreement has been reached with CenterCal Properties, LLC, to develop a regional mixed-use project in Riverton on property CenterCal is purchasing from Suburban Land Reserve, Inc., a real estate arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.CenterCal has successfully developed a number of signature properties, including Station Park in Farmington, Utah, and The Village at Meridian in Meridian, Idaho. The approximately 85-acre project will be located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Mountain View Corridor and 13400 South.
Riverton Mayor Bill Applegarth describes the project as comparable in quality, size, and scope to the properties recently developed by CenterCal in Farmington (www.shopatstationpark.com) and Meridian (www.thevillageatmeridian.com).
Mayor Applegarth noted, “This development will be the centerpiece of a new level of commercial and residential development in Riverton City and the region. CenterCal’s Riverton project will feature stunning architectural treatments and a broad range of retail elements, including several restaurants and a state-of-the-art cinema complex, as well as residential and Class A office components.”
The Mayor continued, “We’ve been preparing for this kind of quality development for many years, and it’s gratifying to be a part of this regionally significant project. I’m especially pleased that the people of Riverton and the surrounding region will be able to enjoy this convenient, top-quality development in the very near future.”
Mayor Applegarth also indicated that members of the City Council – past and present – have been instrumental in helping to bring this substantial amenity to Riverton.
Fred Bruning, CEO of CenterCal Properties, LLC, believes this project will reflect many of the features and offerings found in the Station Park and The Village at Meridian projects, but will also offer new innovations that will create a true gathering place in the community.
“Our goal is to create a unique environment that includes the latest in place-making technology for retail, food, office, entertainment and residential uses that will set a new standard of quality in the region, and be a source of pride for the City and its neighbors for decades to come,” said Mr. Bruning. He added that construction activities will begin as soon as necessary documents, processes and permitting are completed, and will most likely be built in phases similar to the Station Park and The Village at Meridian projects.
