CenterCal Properties broke ground on August 8 of Phase II at Mountain View Village, another step forward in bringing to life CenterCal’s signature ‘placemaking’ philosophy by creating distinctive gathering spaces for community events, entertainment opportunities and a broad range of dining locations.

Situated on 85 acres in one of the fastest growing areas in the Salt Lake Valley, Mountain View Village’s architecture, mature landscaping and beautiful sculptures are designed to honor the unique and deep history of the area. It is CenterCal’s newest ‘placemaking’ project, following the development and openings of Station Park in Farmington, Utah, and Canyon Corners in Park City, Utah, as well as properties in Idaho, Washington, Oregon and California.

“Our mission is to develop properties that bring communities together in unique ways by creating spaces for gathering, dining and entertainment like plays and outdoor concerts,” said Fred Bruning, CenterCal’s CEO. “Mountain View Village will be a place people want to spend their valuable time with family and friends, making memories through delightful experiences.”

As part of Phase II, Cinemark Theatres will open a 14-screen, full luxury theater in an approximately 57,000-square-foot facility.

Central to the Mountain View Village Phase II project will be the community gathering space, which is designed to provide places for friends and families to gather, visit and enjoy the beautiful location.

“Maintaining a strong sense of community is extremely important, especially when growth is so rapid,” said Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs. “Mountain View Village has become a distinct gathering place for our community and will become even more prominent with all the entertainment, dining, and retail that Phase II brings.”

Phase I kicked off with a groundbreaking in March 2017 and grand opening in 2018, and is anchored by Harmon’s Grocery. It was designed to provide visitors with their day-to-day needs from big-box retailers, grocery and fast casual dining. It also features a striking bronze eagle statue depicted in a protective stance to honor the men and women who protect the communities where CenterCal builds. The statue was conceived and created by renowned sculptor Brian Keith.

Mountain View Village is planned in three phases, with the anchor Phase I completed and in use. Phase II will include more specialty retail, entertainment and restaurants, while the final phase will comprise the office complex.
