Notice of Opportunity for a Public Hearing for Planned Improvements Along 4150 W

PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE OF OPPORTUNITY FOR A PUBLIC HEARING for proposed planned improvements along 4150 West (Old Liberty Way) between Majestic Rise Parkway (13200 South) and 12600 South in Riverton, Salt Lake County, Utah. This is a federally-funded project sponsored by Riverton City in cooperation with UDOT and the Wasatch Front Regional Council. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) completed a Draft Documented Categorical Exclusion Study (Doc Cat Ex) in May 2020. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by UDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated January 17, 2017, and executed by FHWA and UDOT. The Draft Environmental document may be viewed at https://tinyurl.com/yakol2yz.

The proposed project constructs a 4-lane roadway running north-south that completes the connection from 12600 South to 13400 South, by constructing the segment from 12600 South to 13200 South (Majestic Rise Parkway). The roadway right of way will generally be 112 ft wide, and will accommodate bike lines, and a corridor for future transit expansion to Riverton and Herriman, including for a transit stop. The proposed project is approximately 0.62 miles (3,450 feet) long. The proposed roadway will consist of four travel lanes, bike lanes, curb and gutter, park strips, and sidewalks. The south side of the existing Tee intersection of 4150 West and 12600 South will be reconfigured as a four-leg intersection. UDOT advises that all persons or groups interested in the proposed improvements can request a public hearing be held, provided the request is received by June 29, 2020. Requests, or written statements concerning the project, can be submitted directly to shendricks@rbgengineering.com / (801) 521-5771.
