
The 2023 general election for Riverton City will be held on Tuesday, November 7. Ballots will be mailed to every active registered voter approximately two weeks prior to Election Day. Candidates for the following city offices will be included on the ballot:
- City Council - District 1
- City Council - District 2
- City Council - District 5

2023 Declaration of Candidacy
The Declaration of Candidacy period for the 2023 Riverton City municipal election is Thursday, June 1 to Wednesday, June 7. Candidates must file in person at the City Recorder's Office at Riverton City Hall at 12830 S Redwood Road in Riverton, Utah. We prefer prospective candidates schedule an appointment in advance with City Recorder Jamie Larsen to file their candidacy at 801-208-3128 or recorder@rivertonutah.gov. Prospective candidates should come prepared to have a photo taken on the day they declare their candidacy. Candidates must be a registered voter in Riverton and must have lived in Riverton for at least 12 consecutive months. The deadline to file is by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7.

NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL OFFICES
to be voted on in the
RIVERTON CITY MUNICIPAL ELECTION
November 7, 2023
A Riverton Municipal Election will be held to elect three Council Members to serve four-year terms. Council Members will be elected from Council District 1, Council District 2 and Council District 5 on November 7, 2023.
Each person seeking to become a candidate must file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the City Recorder during office hours between Thursday, June 1 and Wednesday, June 7 and pay a filing fee of $50.
20A-9-203 Declarations of candidacy -- Municipal general elections.
(1) An individual may become a candidate for any municipal office if:
(a) the individual is a registered voter; and
(b)(i) the individual has resided within the municipality in which the individual seeks to hold elective office for the 12 consecutive months immediately before the date of the election. (2)(b) In addition to the requirements of Subsection (1), each candidate for a municipal council position shall, if elected from a district, be a resident of the council district from which the candidate is elected.
