Participant Information - Miss Riverton Scholarship Competition

About the Competition
The Miss Riverton Scholarship Competition is open to young women age 18-28 (as of June 2025) who are Riverton residents. The competition is held in the spring of each year. The competition process teaches young women valuable life skills such as public speaking, vocabulary, poise, strength, knowledge and voice in political and current events, and helps each candidate discover her core values. At the end of the competition, a new Miss Riverton is crowned, along with 1st and 2nd attendants.

New Talent Option for 2024:
A new judging process offers contestants the opportunity to replace the traditional talent with "HERStory," a 90-Secondary Story contestants tell to inspire, captivate, and entertain on stage. Those who plan to participate in the traditional talent may be joined by one partner for talents such as ballroom dance and cheer.

Scholarships:

Miss Riverton, $2,000
1st Attendant, $1,000
2nd Attendant, $500

Eligibility Requirements:

Must live in or have primary residency in Riverton, Utah.
Must be a young woman age 18-28 years old (as of June 2025).
Must be a high school graduate by June 2024.
Has never been married.
Has never been convicted of any crime and has no pending criminal charges.
Has never been engaged in any activity, which is or could be characterized as dishonest, immoral, immodest, indecent or in bad taste.

Competition Scoring

Private Interview	30%	Based on community service initiative.
Talent / HERStory	20%	90 seconds.
Health & Fitness	20%	On-stage modeling in tennis shoes and fitness wear.
On-stage Conversation	10%	On-stage questions based on community service initiative.
Evening Gown	20%	On-stage modeling in evening gown.
