Emergency Preparedness Committee Purpose

The Emergency Preparedness Committee works to enhance and expand Riverton’s community emergency preparedness plans from threats identified in our hazard mitigation plan. The committee makes recommendations to city staff on matters pertaining to emergency preparedness for individuals, families and neighborhood organizations

The committee organizes and trains Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), promotes S.A.F.E. neighborhoods, promotes family preparedness, provides training, conducts research, solicits resident feedback and works special projects in support of emergency preparedness programs.

The committee consists of up to seven members who are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council.
