Mayor's Message: Buy, Shop, Spend & Win in Riverton!

Mayor's Message: Buy, Shop, Spend & Win in Riverton!By Mayor Trent Staggs

Exactly one year ago, in partnership with dozens of local businesses and community partners, Riverton City held the Riverton Business Blitz. With the effects of COVID-19 challenging the economic viability of our business community, we all pulled together to create a successful event to jumpstart our local economic recovery.

The Business Blitz was paired with four other initiatives that kicked off efforts to help our business community stay afloat during the pandemic. While we were focused on holding steady, we are now turning our attention towards rebuilding. In March 2021, we announced our newest marketing and public education campaign called “Local First.” This campaign is geared towards helping our business community by emphasizing the benefits of shopping local and encouraging residents to frequent Riverton businesses.

Today, I am excited to announce a new contest with our Local First campaign called, “Buy, Shop, Spend and WIN in Riverton!” Beginning May 3, and ending August 29, residents will be able to turn in receipts from Riverton businesses and be entered to win hundreds of dollars’ worth of local gift cards each week.

How will it work?

Every week, participating individuals can visit rivertonutah.gov/local to fill out a simple form, attach a picture of a receipt from any Riverton business and be entered to win. Ten random winners will be announced each week and awarded a $100 gift card. You may enter once per week, however, at the end of each seven-day period the slate will be wiped clean and you must submit a new receipt for each subsequent week. There is no limit on how many times you can win over the course of the four-month period. Be sure to visit our website for additional details and rules.

In addition to “Buy, Shop, Spend and WIN in Riverton,” we have also published a Riverton business directory on our website and mobile application that includes the hundreds of commercially licensed businesses located in our city. This platform will be a one-stop shop to browse businesses by category and find their contact information, address, website and social media pages. No matter the product or service, you will be able to find it right here with the business directory.

Together, we can help our business community rebuild and thrive once again. Remember to think local first and buy, shop, spend and WIN in Riverton this year!
